Hi, I'm Andrea!
I am honored to be part of your teaching journey!
I am starting my 15th year as a 5th grade teacher…and I could definitely tell you some stories!
Here are a few things that I love about 5th graders:
- They are independent.
- They understand my sarcastic comments.
- They laugh at my ridiculous math jokes.
- They love picture books, songs, games, and read alouds.
- They are still just little kids in big kid bodies.
- They want a teacher who loves them.
When I first started teaching, I wanted to find ways to help my students love learning. That’s it. Nothing more, nothing less. I wanted them to be excited to come to school, and I wanted them to be upset when it was time to move on to a new subject.
This happens a lot in my classroom!
In order to accomplish this, I started creating my own teaching resources. Since we are departmentalized on my grade level, most of the resources that I create are math, science, and social studies lessons.
I now have the privilege of sharing those resources and ideas with teachers like you!
